China Square is a 4-storey classic building situated within the Telok Ayer precincts known for its historical heritage. In transforming the former food court to commercial offices, the architectural intent was to give a twist of modernity to the new office building through the use wing glass and aluminium strips. LED lighting was designed to complement the architectural language of the building. White LED lights were embedded into the aluminium strips, so that during the day, the patterned facade is the main feature.
During the night, the LED lights highlight the steel strips to make the building outshine from the rest like a cubism of light.
